Overview of Whole Self Detox Program with Elson Haas, MD

Module 1: Physical Detox

We begin our physical cleansing with a Detox Diet and eliminating SNACCs (Sugar, Nicotine, Alcohol, Caffeine and Chemicals), along with habits we know are not so good for us. Along the journey there will be guidance on successful juice cleansing with Master Cleanse (Spicy Lemonade) and fresh juices, that help us move this healing process along.

We share tips to help you make life-lasting changes to your habits that will allow you to realign and benefit all aspects of your life. Throughout the course we’ll continue sharing good eating plans that will work for a wide variety of people and diets; this way, when the course is complete, you will have the tools to carry with you and the experience of knowing how your body can flourish.

The Peace Medicine approach emphasizes connecting to Nature in order to harmonize with our inner nature by breathing fresh air, having water therapies inside and out, being outdoors, and eating healthy, mostly organic foods.

PHSYCIAL BALANCING

Each person has unique issues to address, and we’ll support you in finding your best, personalized nutritional plan. Together we’ll review multiple options on cleansing and detox. There are many handouts as support materials.

We will introduce techniques to help us maintain awareness of our bodies and what we are doing. We will also include guidance/videos on doing a daily physical/mental practice like the Kata or the 8 Elementals as Qigong exercises.

DETOX AREAS: Physical detoxing is about simplification in all areas so our spirit can sense the space to expand. We can free our heart and mind by also cleaning up our house: the kitchen (including the pantry and fridge), our closets, the garage, even the car. This doesn’t have to be an onerous undertaking: just taking on one shelf or area each week to lighten up will get it done.

Module 2: Emotional Balancing

“We have many mouths.” It’s not just what we eat — but also what we see and hear, taste and smell, think and feel — that affects us and our entire being. Our senses impact our emotions and our mental outlook more than we may initially be aware.

Stress and inner conflict disrupt our entire balance and interfere with our peace of mind and heart. How do we manage stress, make decisions and adapt to change? How do we connect with our feelings, where do they live, and how easily can we clear them? And how can we get beyond our stories, which are also mental?

The Peace Medicine approach prioritizes harmonious relationships to self and others offering guidance in how to settle differences calmly. We tend to project hurt feelings and carry them throughout life.

EMOTIONAL BALANCING

We can get “emotional indigestion” and then not digest and metabolize our emotions and experiences. These then can get stuck in our body, such as in muscles and tissues, and lead to

tightness and pain. Using modalities including hypnotherapy and guided imagery, we’ll work together to identify and move through these emotions and clear them from our bodies.

Relationships are key here. We will start by meditating and tuning into our bodies. We’ll then add stress-reduction strategies so we can get along better with others in our lives — our loved ones, family, friends and co-workers.

DETOX AREAS: Clearing out stuck emotions frees us on every level of our lives. We will meditate and tune into our body in all levels and look for tension or painful spots. Likely there are emotional issues in those tissues that are stored away rather than dealt with at the time, literally holding us back from forward movement in myriad aspects.

Module 3: Mental Clearing

Our beliefs, concepts and attitudes shape:

  • how we deal and adjust to life,
  • our approach to the world and any challenges we face,
  • how we experience our personal growth and evolve.

The Peace Medicine approach cultivates mindfulness and self-awareness so we can detoxify our thoughts that don’t serve us or the world. A calm mind allows us to focus better, connect to our heart and emotions, and make wiser decisions.

MENTAL PURITY/CLARITY

Do you ever get stuck in thoughts and stories held in your mind and heart? Are you able to change the thought patterns and the stuck stories that undermine your peace?

We can also have positive stories that help us feel contentment. We can achieve more contentment by shifting what we state in mind (our self-talk) and see new results by becoming aware of this self-talk. We can redo our mindset with new imagery. Mindfulness training and meditation are keys to refreshing and balancing our mind.

DETOX AREAS: Simplifying our thinking allows us to see how we can change what goes on in our minds. Detoxing from negative thoughts will help us calm our minds and alter the stories we tend to go over and over, which only creates more worry, fear and anxiety over the world, our work or relationships.

We can also detox from the news and social media, plus even take breaks from challenging relationships. We have more power over these areas than we acknowledge.

Module 4: Spiritual Connection

If you feel really great and vital and have experienced healing, what is our highest use of that energy? What are our values and our virtues? What truly inspires us?

In this section, we will explore:

  • how connected we are and aligned with these deeper aspects of our whole self
  • how much our lifestyle is aligned to our core values
  • whether we are living a purposeful and self-directed life

Also in this module, we will learn mindfulness and awareness techniques like self-reflection, centering on and finding inner peace.

SPIRITUAL Connection

Together we will explore profound concepts such as who are we really, in our deepest selves?

What is our reality and can we alter/improve that?

When we really feel good and truthful, we can be of better service to others and help support a more beautiful world. The ideal is to connect with our life path.

DETOX AREAS:

As we discover how to stop the mind and the “am I good enough voices,” we can pursue activities that cultivate harmony:

  • spending time in nature
  • being quiet and still
  • creating a sacred space so we can hear ourselves think and connect to our higher self
  • allowing a sabbath of sorts from all the drama of daily life so we can hear the voices of the spirit

“When we stop the mind, we make room for creativity and our spirit to come forth.”
